a new obsession

I've had my iPhone 3GS for a little over a year now and I've loved taking photos with it. I've always got it in my pocket; it takes great photos and there are a multitude of photo editing apps to tweak my photos and make them look super pro. While I was traveling abroad, I took tons of photos and videos with my iPhone and I'm so glad because I didn't always carry my Canon 5D with me everywhere (that thing is HEAVY)!

Back in December I heard about this new free app for iPhone users called 'Instagram' (www.instagr.am) and it's absolutely amazing. You can edit your photos within the app using filters and then post the photo to a network of Instagrammers, who can then 'like' and comment on your photos. I've become quite addicted to Instagram. It's almost like a Twitter, but for photos. I've joined a group (@assignm3nt) that gives out daily photo assignments. These assignments have sparked my creativity and passion for photography all over again!

I'm thankful for this app because it is reigniting my passion for photography all over again! And now here is a sampling of some of my Instagram prints. If you have an iPhone and like photography, please join! Follow me @NaomiStrange ;)

  3. Love Instagram, sweet photos. I'm contemplating purchasing an iPhone for the capability of taking photos everywhere I go, packing even my digital camera gets old. I have a digital Canon, but I'm dying to get a Rebel. I'm guessing the 5D has even better stats?

  4. I would definitely advise getting the iPhone. it takes great photos and obviously you'll always have it with you. I also carry around my Canon PowerShot, it takes HD Video and great photos, and it's a very small, light point and shoot camera. I actually have been using it more than my 5D because it's so easy to carry around everywhere!

  5. Thanks, I am really borderline getting an iPhone, it would be so convenient! I actually have the Powershot & I agree it's great! I've wanted something I can take more artistic photos with for so long though, that I'm wanting to invest in a better Canon. My tax return will determine everything.
There's another app I'll have to recommend- I think you would really like it if I could just recall the name. Anyways thanks again, have a great week!
